I am so sorry to hear of Mr.Scott's passing. I have fond memories of him when John and I used to play in our childhood. He was such a kind, gentle man. Sending prayers of comfort to Mrs. Scott, Karen, John, Steve and families during this difficult time.

No matter what the weather was at the bus stop that morning,10 above or 20 below, Gary would always greet me with a smile and ask, "How's it going? You probably want to move back to California on a day like today, don't ya?" Such a wonderfully kind man, with a giving soul, he'd sharpen the blades of your lawnmower or snowblow your driveway asking for nothing in return and happy to do it. Truly an enlightened man. We miss you Scott family, love you and are with you in spirit in this time of grief. If there is "heaven", I'm pretty sure he's up there fixing someone's gutter! My sincerest condolences to the Scott Family. Mr. Scott touched my life with both wisdom and laughter ever since I played little league with his son John. He was always involved with practices and games, and taught me the correct way to stand at first base as I received a throw from other infielders. To this day I still chuckle when I think of him pulling a piece of licorice out of his jacket with a nod and a smile during his sons wedding. He was always prepared! Rest in peace good sir.

We loved to share time with Gary and Marie at the beach, he loved the beach and always made sure everyone had a good time. He never let me forget that he had to carry the extra toilet paper that wouldn't fit in our car to the beach one year. He even brought me toilet paper for Christmas so I'd always have a spare. He was funny, always had a smile and greeted everyone in the room. I am thankful for the years we got to know him and the fact that he made sure that we knew we would see him again in HEAVEN (he'll probably have a roll of TP waiting for me) Love you Gary!

Sorry to read about Gary. It's sad to see this happen to someone loved by so many, with so much to look forward. The 47 year marriage to Marie is a mile stone, that testifies to their love for one another. It's good to know Gary was a believer in Jesus Christ. With that in mind all can take comfort in Jesus words at John 5:28,29. Their it speaks about a resurrection hope, where we can see our dead loved ones again. Until then we can find comfort in our Heavenly Father for help through this difficult time (2 Corinthians 1:3,4).

When Karen married in to the Rainey Family, we had the privilege of getting Marie and Gary along with her. We enjoyed all our visits with Gary when he made his way to South Carolina. We shared many meals and made great memories with him over the years and he will be truly missed. Marie, Karen, and family, you will be in our thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead. Wiffle ball & kickball on the Scott's front lawn , until the street lights came on / baseball games after the block party (North vs South) great memories - Gary was a kind and generous man always willing to help out. My Dad enjoyed thier talks' during the last few years and i know Gary did as well.. I am glad i found those slides of the old block parties per Garys request in my Dads basement. (I did stop by and I let Gary know we found them! ). -My deepest condolences. Remember all the good times and know he is at peace.

GARY AND I WORKED TOGETHER SIDE , BY SIDE FOR MANY YEARS AT THE HUNTLEY STEAM STATION.

HE WAS A GENTLEMAN AND ALWAYS TREATED PEOPLE WITH RESPECT. I CALLED GARY NUMEROUS

TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR TO NO AVAIL , NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY , THE LORD WAS CALLING HIM .

HE WAS MY FOREMAN ,CO-WORKER , BUT ESPECIALLY MY FRIEND.
